NEW PUBLICATIONS

I-WB12A The Workbasket Volume 12 July 1947 Number 10
Folded but not stapled, 8 pages. Apparently there were troubles with the publication, as the issues for July and August were delivered at the same time. Crochet: Pansy Pan Holders, Crocheted Animals (fawn, flying fish, owl), crocheted baby booties, crocheted baby carriage robe, filet crochet rose insertion.

I-SD001 Crocheted Apron 9666
Single page, titled THIS IS YOUR FREE GIFT. Inlaid in the Workbasket issue of July 1947, but not mentioned there. Pattern for a striped half-apron, embroidered with crocheted flowers and leaves.

C-PR008 Maison Sajou – Dessins de Broderies, Album No. 346
Small leporello with eight pages and three complete alphabets, brown cover. The alphabets are all for whitework embroidery, qua size suitable for marking linen, but more decorative than marking alphabets usually are. One alphabet decorated with flowers, one with branches with leaves, and the third has half a garland around the letters, such as is seen on napkins and handkerchiefs.
Scans donated by Priscilla Cailly, edited and charted by Sytske Wijnsma

C-MF002 Magasin des Demoiselles – Five floral patterns
Supplement for the Magasin des Demoiselles, year 1851-1852. Single sheet with five printed patterns numbered 13, 14, 15, 16, 17. One small pattern is missing, number unknown. 13 and 14 are small motifs used to fill in empty spaces on the sheet. 15, 16, and 17 are variations of a carnation floral motif, possibly used for a chair seat, back, arm rests or something similar. The chart shows the complete designs, rearranged for space.
From the collection of La Muse Francaise, scanned, edited and charted by Sytske Wijnsma.

A-MH191 Journal des Demoiselles – Round and rectangular embroidery design
Single page, two embossed patterns. They might be intended for a smoking cap, if the rectangular pattern would be extended to cover the circumference of the round one. The relative dimensions look a bit off for a smoking cap, but maybe that was left to the needleworker. Of course these designs would also be suitable for other purposes.
From the collection of Marleen van Horssen, edited by Sytske Wijnsma.

A-MH132 Magasin des Demoiselles – Four repeating patterns and a border design
Supplement of the Magasin des Demoiselles, printed patterns on white paper. Four patterns suitable for indefinite repeats and one border design in bold colors. No date, probably a later year. Designs by S. Helbronner, 6 Rue Castiglionne.
From the collection of Marleen van Horssen, edited and charted by Sytske Wijnsma.
