Magasin des demoiselles – collection patterns 24-28

A-MH048 Magasin des Demoiselles, 1851-1852 – Collection patterns 24-28
Complete collection of two quarter patterns for symmetrical square design and three edge designs, suitable for cross-stitch or tapisserie. Supplement of the Magasin des Demoiselles, year 1851-1852.
Small litho 10 by 5 inch, printed on cream cardboard. Scanned 300dpi bitmap.
From the collection of Marleen van Horssen, edited and charted by Sytske Wijnsma.

These supplements from the Magasin des Demoiselles were often cut apart to share patterns with other needleworkers, or glued into a book of favorite patterns. We have some incomplete supplements where someone cut out a favorite, and sometimes a single pattern that looks like it might come from one of these supplements. Fortunately the publisher numbered the patterns individually, starting each volume with 1 and increasing the number for each issue of that volume. That helps in identifying missing fragments. This collection patterns is fortunately complete. The grid of each pattern was drawn separately and sometimes has a different size, which makes charting the entire collection on one chart difficult. We’ve chosen to chart each pattern separately and also keep the legends separate, so you can split the pdf per pattern and share the individual patterns with friends and fellow needleworkers, exactly as it was done in the 19th century.

FUNDRAISING

OUR USUAL FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN RAN FROM SEPTEMBER TO DECEMBER and was hugely succesful, I’m so grateful!
OF COURSE DONATIONS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME.
IF YOU CAN’T AFFORD TO DONATE, BUT WOULD LIKE TO HELP THE ANTIQUE PATTERN LIBRARY, INTRODUCING THE LIBRARY TO PEOPLE WHO DON’T KNOW OF IT YET, IS VERY USEFUL, SINCE IT BROADENS OUR USER BASE AND THEREFORE ALSO OUR FUTURE DONOR BASE. BLOGS, TIKTOK, INSTAGRAM, PINTEREST, RAVELRY, FACEBOOK, OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA – SHOW OTHERS YOUR FAVORITE PUBLICATIONS AND WHAT YOU MADE USING THEM. OUR WORK IS ONLY USEFUL WHEN PEOPLE ACTUALLY USE IT!
