In the Women Who Make Cents there’s a summary tip to dress dolls. Long before the Barbie dolls were a thing, there was the remark that young girls like clothes that can be easily put on and off dolls. And not just young girls! There were women that earned a fair amount of money by dressing dolls in the local regional costumes, quite different from the plastic souvenir dolls, and complete with silver accessoires and jewelry. Those were not childrens toys (far too expensive). Maybe something to try if you have some scraps of fabric and lace?
