METAVERSE LIBRARIES HELPS FUND AWARDS FOR VWEC STUDENT CHALLENGE
Metaverse Libraries helps fund awards for VWEC (Virtual Worlds Education Consortium) Student Challenge for another year, making it possible to help encourage building skills, teamwork, and learning about educational concepts. There is a rubric that students are expected to follow and that the judges use when evaluating each participant presentation.

The winners of the 2026 Virtual Worlds Education Consortium Student Challenge were announced in a ceremony on April 25th, 2026. Some awards are provided by sponsors, which include Metaverse Libraries and its donors.

Besides the first, second and third prizes awarded, there was also recognition for categories such as Best Presentation, Most Interactive, and Most Authentic.

An award for innovation in Minecraft is even given to young students who are not of age to compete in the challenge but who work hard to learn many of the same fundamentals using the Minecraft platform.

You can view a full video of the closing ceremony on YouTube. Additionally, there is a YouTube video available that shows a walk-through of all the student exhibits made for this 2026 challenge.
Additionally, several instructors for the student challenge – along with a group of past student participants who have now gone on to support the Student Challenge in other ways – were featured on the VWEC Expert Series for a panel entitled “Rez, Reflect, Repeat: Learning Through Virtual Creation”. They discussed the value of the Student Challenge and what students gain from participation. This Expert Series presentation is available for viewing on YouTube.
Our organization is grateful for opportunities where Metaverse Libraries helps fund awards for VWEC (Virtual Worlds Education Consortium) and their Student Challenge. Events such as these help encourage students to be more responsible citizens and communicate information in metaverse platforms. We congratulate the winners of this year’s Student Challenge.
