NEW EXHIBIT AT VWEC IN KITELY THAT SHOWCASES PAST OSCC PRESENTATIONS

In anticipation of Open Simulator Community Conference 2025, a new exhibit appeared on the Virtual World Education Consortium island in Kitely featuring past presentations that the Virtual World Education Consortium group on the Open Simulator grids have made at the annual conference. The presentations were over the past two years, and these are the slide presentations that were used to accompany them. The Open Simulator Community Conference is held annually at the AvaCon grid, and in 2025 will be December 6th and 7th, 2025.

“Help! I’m Lost in the Metaverse!” was the theme of the 2023 panel presented by the Virtual Worlds Education Consortium in the Open Simulator grids. The goal of the panel was to make people aware of Virtual Worlds Education Consortium expanding their mission into other worlds, and to also make people aware of the availability of the Virtual World Education Consortium directories. To see the full presentation, a video is available.

“Utilizing the Metaverse for Serious Education” became the focus of the Virtual Worlds Education Consortium presentation for 2024. Here the topic primarily focused on the use of various simulations and how they could strengthen learning. The Virtual World Education Consortium directories are discussed, primarily in their use for mentorship via the Members Directory. The full video of this panel is also available.

Currently, this exhibit is scheduled to remain up until the end of 2025. As to whether this space will transform into a long-term space for rotating exhibits is something that the Virtual Worlds Education Consortium will be exploring further. If there are additional Virtual Worlds Education Consortium exhibits that appear in this space, or in a different location on the Island, those will be announced. Please consider coming to visit this new exhibit at VWEC in Kitely that showcases past OSCC presentations as we anticipate what the Open Simulator Community Conference may feature to increase knowledge on a variety of subjects in December of 2025.
