Community Virtual Library Co-SponsorED VWMOOC 2025
With August of 2025 coming to a close, VWMOOC 2025 offered a broad mix of programming for educators of all kinds that ran throughout the entire month. Community Virtual Library co-sponsored VWMOOC 2025 and showed their support as the organization has for many years, along with other organizations. VWMOOC is a virtual worlds conference based primarily in Second Life that has been going for over ten years. In more recent years, it has grown to include other virtual worlds as it embraces the challenges and opportunities of being an educator in virtual spaces.
All of the sessions are held in Zoom so that anyone may attend without the need to log in to the specific virtual world being featured. Some sessions, due to the nature of the content, were held exclusively on Zoom but focused on virtual worlds and education as the subject matter. These sessions are also livestreamed via YouTube. People who attend the live Zoom sessions receive Certificates to show their attendance. Certificates are also awarded to those who give of their time and talents in order to make presentations during the month-long conference.
For those wanting to get a sense of what content the event offers, there is a playlist of all of the VWMOOC25 content available on YouTube. Take a look and see what different topics are there. Perhaps you will find something that holds your interest as an exciting new application of virtual worlds in the education space.
Several members of the Community Virtual Library board contributed their knowledge to this year’s event, including Dr. Valerie Hill (Valibrarian Gregg), Carla Pritchett (Suemoon Magic) and Shannon Broden (Kreatya Shannon). You can see their complete bios in this YouTube video highlighting the event speakers. It is the teamwork of all the presenters and participants that contribute to making the VWMOOC a success year after year.
