CVL and VWEC Collaborate for hypergrid resource to teach basics of hypergridding in kitely

 

The Virtual Worlds Education Consortium and the Community Virtual Library have collaborated to curate a resource for those on Kitely who want to learn more about how to hypergrid to other areas of the Open Sim. The Hypergrid Resource Island is home to the Hypergrid Resource Library, which contains basic information on what hypergridding is and details on how to get started.

The Library can be accessed via the teleporters located at Metaverse Libraries’ Cookie II area on Kitely, or by bridge from the central Metaverse Libraries Island.

Within the library are various presentations that answer questions about basic terms and procedures as they relate to hypergridding. It is designed to be self-service since there is no staff for this library. The goal is to get people up and ready to travel the Open Sim by being able to hypergrid whenever it is convenient for them.

Information is retrieved by going up to a monitor and touching it to interact with it.

 

One particular landmark of Hypergrid Resource Island is that it also offers a set of gates to various Open Sim locations in the center of the island. These gates have been curated by the Community Virtual Library and the Virtual World Education Consortium to take avatars to educational areas on the Open Sim.

For those who take a hypergrid trip with friends, the Hypergrid Resource Island offers a Coffee and Chat location to meet up or to chat together afterwards about the group’s adventures.
